This service means that Imam Abu Hurayra conducts a marriage ceremony that meets the legal requirements of the Australian Government as well as the requirements for a valid Islamic Nikah contract. This type of service entitles you to both an official Australian Civil Marriage Certificate and an authenticated Islamic Marriage Certificate.

Requirements for this Service

1. One Calendar Month Notice (NOIM)

According to Australian government regulations, persons intending on getting married must file a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM - Form 13) with an authorised celebrant at least one month prior. Imam Abu Hurayra supplies the notice form and guides you on any shortening of time if required.

2. Identification Documents

An original Australian Birth Certificate or valid overseas Passport. If you do not have acceptable identification, a statutory declaration authorised by the celebrant will be prepared.

3. Two Witnesses

Two adult witnesses over the age of 18 are required. For the Islamic contract, two practicing Muslim males over the age of puberty act as witnesses.

4. The Wali (Bride's Guardian)

In accordance with authentic Islamic teachings, a woman is represented by her guardian (Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, or the Imam for revert sisters without Muslim family).
